Pizza Dough (Recipe makes dough for 3 pizzas)

  • 3 & 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3 quarters of a teaspoon of dry active yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 & 1/3 cup of warm water (Warm water will activate the yeast.)

1. Mix & turn up the speed (Want all the flour to be mixed in & become a dough ball)

2. Add bench flour to a baking board & flour to the dough ball

3. Knead the dough & fold back into itself

4. Add olive oil & dough to a mixing bowl (Olive oil gives the dough more flavor)

5. Cover the bowl with a towel - Let rise for about 1 hour

6. Flour a sheet pan

7. Cut the dough into 3 parts for the 3 pizzas

8. Knead the dough ball, flatten it out & then shape with your hand - make it all come together & add to the sheet pan

9. Cover the sheet pan with a towel - let rise again for about one more hour

Pizza Sauce

To make the sauce, Buddy uses a food mill - but you can use either a mixer or a blender

  • 1 can of whole peeled tomatoes
  • Salt
  • 1 packet of sugar (about 1 teaspoon)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Directions:

Mix all ingredients together.

Margherita Pizza

  • Pizza dough
  • Flour
  • Cornmeal
  • Pizza sauce
  • Fresh mozzarella
  • Fresh basil

1. Take the dough after it has risen and add flour to the kitchen board

2. Knead dough

3. Roll out the doll to about 10 - 11 inches

4. Stretch out the pizza dough

5. Add cornmeal to the pizza peel

6. Open up the pizza on the pizza peel until it is nice and round

7. Spread out the pizza sauce using the ladle on the dough

8. Add fresh mozzarella

9. Add fresh basil

10. Give the pizza a shake to make sure it will slide off the pizza peel after it is baked

11. Cook on a pizza stone at 500 degrees in the oven for 7-10 minutes (You can use a sheet pan if you don't have a pizza stone)
