hroughout the week, we are busy with work, school, kids, groceries and the list goes on. It can be hard to find time to do something that makes us happy and we often forget to take time out of the day to treat ourselves. Setting aside just 10 or 15 minutes for you is going to help to decompress, relax and be happier overall. You don't need a big shopping trip or a fancy dinner in order to do something special for yourself. We have come up with some inexpensive and easy ways to treat yourself every day!

1. Go for a Walk

Take time to fit in a walk! This may not seem like your first choice, but after a few walks you will find that this alone time is the highlight of your day! Not only does walking have amazing health benefits, it gives you a chance to listen to your favorite podcasts, audiobooks and music. Taking time to get outside in nature will help reduce stress and allow you to take some time for yourself. If you can't find time during the day, try to wake up 20 minutes earlier than usual to fit in some you time!

2. Have a Reading Nook

When is the last time you finished a book? If you can't remember, it's time to add reading back into your routine. Create a reading nook. This is a space filled with comfortable blankets, pillows and cushions where you can cozy up and enjoy your favorite book. When you're in your reading nook, the family knows not to ask you any favors. Put on your comfiest clothes, make yourself a delicious hot drink and take 15 minutes.

3. Take a Bath

One of the best ways to treat yourself is with a warm bath. Something about sinking into a hot tub at the end of the day feels luxurious. You can find inexpensive products that will take your bath to the next level. Next time you are at the store, pick up a bottle of bubble bath in your favorite scent. You can even add essential oils or oatmeal to your bath for added relaxation and benefits. Make the end of a long day perfect with some candles, a bath and relaxation!

4. Try a New Face Mask

Pick out a new face mask that you have been wanting to try and treat yourself! Stores everywhere are selling inexpensive samples of a wide range of masks. You can also try making your own mask from ingredients you have in your pantry! Most face masks have to be left on for 10-20 minutes. Take this time to catch up on your favorite show, read a magazine or simply relax. This is the perfect way to treat yourself and your skin!

5. Bake Yourself Something

It's time to get in the kitchen and make yourself something special! On a Sunday evening, plan to bake one of your favorite treats. Whether it's brownies, cookies or homemade bread, pick something that you can look forward to everyday. Throughout the week you can end your day with a bite of your special baked good. This is a great way to treat yourself and it won't break the bank!

Finding those 10 or 20 minutes to do something that makes you happy is so important. Use these little treats as motivation throughout the day to be productive and get things done. Then reward yourself with your treat of choice. Taking time out of the day to treat yourself isn't selfish; it's necessary!
