Bachelor and bachelorette parties have the reputation of being, well, a little naughty. But times are shifting. Instead brides and grooms-to-be are embracing the event as a chance to do something unique with their closest comrades. Here are so many ways to celebrate across the country.
ALABAMA: Flora-Bama Bar
What screams bachelor or bachelorette party more than a bar right on the beach? This legendary bar sits on the gulf shores where Florida and Alabama meet. Grab some grub at the oyster bar before dancing the night away to live music on the beach. During the day, rent jet skis or charter a deep-sea fishing boat for fun on the water.
ALASKA: Salmon Fishing and Sightseeing
If you are going to make it all the way out to Alaska, you may as well go salmon fishing AND see the sights. This tour company does both. They’ll take you out in Kenai Fjords National Park to see wildlife and glaciers. Snap plenty of photos and then it’s on to fishing where, depending on the season, you may catch salmon, rockfish or pacific cod.
ARIZONA: Men’s Getaway at The Biltmore
Arizona is a great place for any bachelor or bachelorette party because of its amazing spas, tons of hiking and mild weather. This Scottsdale hotel pulls out all the spots for a bachelor party with their men’s getaway package that includes two hours of golf, a bourbon and cigar experience, a chef’s tasting menu plus wine pairings and even men’s facials or massages in the spa.
ARKANSAS: Hot Springs
There’s a reason that Hot Springs, Arkansas has become known as spa city. There are tons of bathhouses and spas that draw forth the amazing natural hot springs found in the middle of the town. Go on a hike in the national park, go shopping around town and end your day in a relaxing spa setting at a place like Quapaw Baths, which has thermal pools and natural steam caves.
CALIFORNIA: Go Kayaking in La Jolla
You could spend a California bachelorette party shopping your way through rodeo drive, drinking in Napa, or eating through San Fran, but why not head to La Jolla where you can take a kayaking tour that will put you up close with the whales. Paddle through the waters of the artic into the lagoons of Mexico before you rest for a possibly whale sighting. Afterward, hit the beach and head for some fish tacos–you are in La Jolla after all.

CONNECTICUT: Spa Day at the Mayflower Inn & Spa
A day of pure spa indulgence can be the perfect bachelor or bachelorette party, and this Connecticut spot has so many different wellness opportunities. From massage to sound healing, facials, manicures, plus yoga classes, ai chi and Pilates, there is no stone left unturned for relaxation before the big day. Take a wine class, play tennis, do a bourbon and apple pie tasting, and take in the chill at this Inn.
DELAWARE: Do It All
Rehoboth beach has a ton to offer for a bachelorette weekend. It’ll be hard to choose what to do, so why not do it all? This tour company helps to curate the ultimate weekend that starts with either a craft beer or wine and garden tour, then follows with private kayaking, paddle boarding or yoga lessons, a barre and Bellini class, or something more artistic like sign painting. There are plenty of added mementos, photos and snacks along the way. It’ll be nice to have a blast with little to minimal planning and set transportation!
FLORIDA: Asian Night Bazaar at Setai
Dinner and a show take on new meaning here where this pan-Asian restaurant turns into a true experience every Friday night. Contortionists, fire breathers, geishas and aerial acrobats perform around the dining room to the beats of the resident DJ. All while you enjoy spice-forward bites and craft cocktails.
GEORGIA: A Wine and Food Tour Through Georgia’s Wine Country
For the bachelors and bachelorettes who love wine and food, this tour takes you on a wine and culinary adventure starting with a tasting and followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of a winery. Next, their sommelier will guide you through a wine and food experience before you finish the evening with a four-course dinner, plus wine pairings at a top restaurant.
HAWAII: Surfing and a day of water sports in Maui
We can think of few things that sound more awesome than spending the day on the beaches of Hawaii. This surf school offers a perfect, customizable way to celebrate the bride or groom-to-be. You can do two-hours of surfing (complete with lessons and professional photography), followed by lunch that is catered by the beachside Pacific’o restaurant. After, excursioners can play on the beach, with attractions like volleyball, snorkeling or just chilling in the sun.
IDAHO: Ski and see the stars at Hotel Ketchum
ILLINOIS: See Teatro ZinZanni
This three-hour experience involves a feast from a well-known chef, comedy, theatrics, acrobatics and so much more. Watch the modern circus while you eat and sip on specialty cocktails. INDIANA: Make Candles at Penn and Beech
There’s nothing quite like a beautifully scented candle, so wouldn’t it be fun to make your own? IOWA: Visit the Field of Dreams Movie Set
Iowa is full of corn fields, but there is one in particular that makes a great visit for a bachelor parties full of movie buffs–the Field of Dreams. Speaking of ball, there is something fun about having a few beers while watching a game. Hang out in the Craft and Draft where you can get pub food and over 75 beers on tap right in the stadium.
KENTUCKY: Hit up the Bourbon Trail
When in Kentucky, bourbon is a must. Set out on the trail and make sure to hit up Bardstown Bourbon Company. Take a tour, learn how bourbon is made and take a few sips straight from the barrel. You can even spend some time learning from one of the master distillers.
LOUISIANA: Party it Up in New Orleans
Hosting a bachelor or a bachelorette party in New Orleans is a no brainer. Beignets at Café Du Monde, late nights on Bourbon street and plenty of delicious cajun food. Any good bach party must stop at the Carousel Bar and Lounge, which recently celebrated its 70thanniversary. The bar rotates every 15 minutes, but that doesn’t mean it’s full of kitsch–the cocktails here are top-notch and this iconic spot remains a must-visit.
MAINE: Go Sailing in Portland
Don’t worry if you don’t know how to sail, someone will do the hard work for you! Just kick back and relax while soaking in the amazing views of Casco bay. There are a few different options, from a sunset rose sail with fresh oysters to a trip geared more towards local craft beer. Enjoy it all!
MARYLAND: Create a Masterpiece in Baltimore
For the artistic bachelor or bachelorette, a class at the Painting Workshop is a great chance for everyone to flex their painting muscles. Have a few drinks and catch up while you are guided through creating a canvas painting at this Baltimore institution.
MASSACHUSETTS: Cashunt Scavenger Hunt

MICHIGAN: Drag Queen Bingo
